Health, Confidence, and Self-defense
Our Krav Maga Youth program focuses on health, confidence, and self-defense. Class sizes are limited so that each student gets plenty of attention and help from the instructors. Students will learn verbal and physical self-defense, conflict resolution, and do tough workouts that will keep them strong and healthy.
We have separate classes for Elementary and Middle school aged students (High school students are welcome to train in the adult classes!). In order to maintain a good student-teacher ratio, and to ensure that each students gets full attention, space is limited.
What is a typical youth class like?
These classes combine self-defense techniques, verbal skills, and conditioning exercises. Students learn basic striking techniques like punches and kicks, and defenses against common attacks such as chokes and grabs. They train to use their voices to resolve conflicts or draw attention to themselves if in trouble, because fighting is the last outcome we want. And along with all that, the students do high-intensity conditioning exercises to make sure that they stay strong and healthy.
Isn’t this just teaching kids to fight?
We understand your concern: a lot of people have that unfortunate impression about Krav Maga, but it couldn’t be farther from the truth. Teaching self-defense is like putting on a seat-belt: It keeps people safe, it doesn’t teach them to get in car accidents. Our Anti-bulling program focuses on conflict resolution, verbal skills, and fitness in addition to the self-defense skills. However we do want to ensure that if someone attacks your child, they will able to protect themselves.
