The youth program includes kids as young as eight years old through seniors in high school. Students who are 18 years old but still in high school maybe choose which class they prefer to take.
Kids 8-10: Classes are 45 minutes long. Students learn basic strikes and several intermediate attacks. Self-defense techniques standing and on the ground. At this level we also start incorporating basic strength and agility exercises. Students in this group also learn to partner with each other, holding pads and applying attacks.
Middle School: At this time there are no classes for middle school aged students. However this class is hopefully coming soon, so if you are interested please let us know!
High School: Classes are one hour long. Students learn basic and intermediate striking, as well as pad holding and coaching strategies. We also train self-defense against empty hand attacks such as chokes, headlocks, and bearhugs, as well as the first introduction to weapons defenses.
FAQs
Does your program teach life skills like listening, respect, and discipline?
Absolutely. You won’t find us giving any boring lectures though, everything is done through the training.
Krav Maga seems very violent, is it appropriate for kids?
Although Krav Maga is ultimately designed for use in self-defense scenarios, the training is always promoted on its own merits: To get stronger physically and mentally, develop confidence, and learn teamwork. And as a benefit, if you have to defend yourself, you’ll have that as well.
