Nate Robinson Vertical Jump Want to jump like this guy? That's too bad, because I'd imagine that for most of use that ship has sailed. However it's never too late to make improvements, and you might find more benefits than being closer to dunking a basketball. A few years ago I was a fairly diligent ultimate frisbee player, and some other friends of mine and I took a vertical jump course to get that extra edge when going up for a high catch. Vertical jump training is very explosive, and over the course of the training I noticed that not only could I jump higher, but I also started punching and kicking much harder and faster, which stands to reason since your striking power, like your jumping power, is largely dependent on how hard and fast you can push off the ground. This series starts on Sunday, March 24th at 5:30, each class is an hour long. In addition to jumping exercises, we'll be working mobility, acceleration, movement, balance, and strength, so the improvements in your ability to move with be quite comprehensive.
