You can train weapons defenses your whole life and never get to use them (not necessarily a bad thing), or you could be this guy: I have to say that the robber here was just incredibly incompetent. Putting the gun within arm's reach? That's an amateur mistake. Also, while I give the "victim" huge respect for his reactions, he was walking along the street at 5:00am staring at his phone. I'm glad he was able to make the defense, but a little more situational awareness might have prevented the altercation entirely. And if the criminal had been more tactical, and stayed out of arms reach, it might have gone very differently for the defender. Here's a link to the full article
